Mediterranean cuisine in the heart of Camping Le Haras

In Palau-del-Vidre, between the Albères mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, the restaurant at Camping Le Haras has, over the years, become a destination in its own right.

Located beside the swimming pool and surrounded by greenery, it naturally welcomes our campsite guests, but not only them. The restaurant is also open to visitors who are not staying at the campsite, with one simple aim: to offer generous, carefully prepared Mediterranean cuisine in a relaxed and welcoming setting, just a few kilometres from Argelès-sur-Mer and Collioure.

A family affair

Le Haras is, first and foremost, a family-run business, and the restaurant is no exception.

Throughout the season, several members of the family are involved in running the restaurant alongside our team. This family spirit naturally shapes the atmosphere we want to create: a warm, unpretentious place where you can just as easily enjoy a family dinner as share a few tapas and a drink with friends.

Perhaps what we enjoy most is seeing our holidaymakers, familiar faces who return year after year, and an increasing number of local residents from Palau-del-Vidre and the Pyrénées-Orientales all gathering around the same tables.

Generous, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine

From the very beginning, we wanted the restaurant to become an integral part of Le Haras, with its own identity and a menu that evolves throughout the season.

Our inspiration naturally comes from the Mediterranean and our local region, but also from the creativity of our kitchen team. The menu changes, recipes evolve, and our aim remains the same: to serve generous, carefully prepared and approachable food, with a few nods to Catalonia and the Pyrénées-Orientales.

Local produce and regional flavours naturally find their way onto our plates, from Collioure anchovies to Banyuls wine, alongside more personal creations.

Over the years, the restaurant has become a real part of the Le Haras experience for some of our guests. It is not unusual to see holidaymakers dining with us almost every day of their stay.

And some stories make us particularly happy: travellers have even told us they added an extra night at Le Haras to their itinerary simply so they could have dinner at the restaurant, despite not originally planning to stop here.

We can hardly imagine a better compliment for our kitchen and front-of-house teams.

A terrace that comes alive at sunset

It is impossible to talk about the restaurant without mentioning its surroundings.

The terrace overlooks the swimming pool and is surrounded by the lush greenery that makes Le Haras so special. At lunchtime, you can enjoy a meal in the shade. But if we had to choose, evening would probably be our favourite time.

As the heat of the day fades, the tables begin to fill and the first notes of music drift through the campsite, the atmosphere changes.

During the summer, live music evenings have become a much-loved tradition at Le Haras. Some evenings are relaxed and mellow, while others are far livelier, ending with half the terrace on its feet!

The 2026 season gave us some wonderful memories, particularly with Lemon Grass and Nina and Friends: fully booked tables, enthusiastic guests and that special atmosphere of long summer evenings.

And you don’t have to be staying at the campsite to enjoy it: the restaurant is open to everyone throughout the season.

Sunday brunch, our newest tradition

In 2026, we also introduced a new event: Sunday brunch.

On the first Sunday of every month, from May to September, we offer a generous buffet accompanied by live music. A few hours to enjoy good food, chat, listen to music and relax on the terrace with family or friends.

Our first season was such a lovely experience that we are looking forward to continuing it in 2027.

See you in spring 2027

The restaurant has now closed for the winter, along with the campsite.

After a season filled with busy services, new recipes, brunches, concerts and countless meals shared around our tables, it is time for the team to start preparing for what comes next.

Above all, we would like to thank everyone who joined us in 2026: our holidaymakers, our regular guests and the growing number of local residents from the Pyrénées-Orientales who have come to discover our restaurant.

A few ideas for next season are already beginning to take shape…

We look forward to welcoming you back in spring 2027 to discover them. 🌿
